Cupping therapy is over 3000 years old and originated in China and ancient Egypt. The massage starts with stretching and a pleasant contact massage to release tension done through a towel. It is followed by oil massage starting with long deep strokes along the spine using forearms; this stretches the erectors and deep back muscles. Then shoulders, shoulder blades, neck spine and lower back are relaxed. After the initial relaxation of the muscles the therapist starts to work with the cups. The attached cups are moved along the spine, in the area of the shoulder blades, trapeze muscles and lower back. Cups are attached to reflexology zones, acupressure points and directly on painful spots. Strong blood circulation followed by relaxation removes toxins and brings effective relief from pain. The massage is completed with a pleasant relaxing massage with aromatherapy oils.
